UJN President Scholarship
1. About UJN
University of Jinan is a key and comprehensive university in Shandong Province with a history of 75 years. It is entitled a distinctive institution of higher learning which is committed to cultivating applied-talented students. It offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs and enjoys the right to recommend postgraduates exempting admission examinations.
University of Jinan has four campuses, covering an area of over 2.43 million square meters. It has 23 schools, 3 post-doctoral research center and more than 38,000 full-time students, including undergraduates, postgraduates and international students. There are 11 kinds of major specialties, namely Economics, Law, Education, Literature, History, Science, Technology, Management and Art. 7 disciplines, such as Chemistry and Material Science, are taken into the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database, ranking in the top 1%.
University of Jinan has promoted policies of opening-up and internationalization. It has established international cooperative relationships with 120 international counterparts in countries including the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, etc. It has also established a Confucius Institute in the Republic of the Congo, and 3 international and regional study centers, including the Center for the Iceland Studies, the Center for the Study of Francophone Africa and the Center for the Study of the Caribbean. Up till now, more than 4000 international students have graduated from the university.

4. Admission Requirements
(1) About Applicants
- be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health both mentally and physically;
- be a bachelor’s degree holder or undergraduate student under the age of 30 when applying for master’s programs;
- be a master’s degree holder or postgraduate student under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs;
- have acquired the Chinese proficiency of HSK5 (180 points or above) when applying for Chines taught master’s or doctoral programs;
- students applying for English taught programs should come from countries where English is the mother tongue or official language, or graduate from English taught major or have English language proficiency of IELTS 6.5/ TOEFL 90 or above.
(2) Required Documents
All documents should be in/translated into Chinese or English. Each applicant should submit his/her:
①Application form (please fill all the applicable items);
②Scanned copy of passport(Passport validity should be more than 18 months for students who apply for programs longer than 6 months);
③Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree(notarized) or study certificate (if not graduated);
④Physical Examination Report;
⑤Statement of Financial Support;
⑥For those who graduate more than two years: Certification of latest employment (if formally employed) or certificate of non-criminal records (if unemployed in recent years).
⑦Academic Transcript;
⑧Study Plan;
⑨Two letters of recommendation from two associate professors or higher;
NOTE: If students are currently studying in China, please add the following documents:
① Graduation Certificate or Study Certificate and Transcript from previous school;
② Scanned copy of information page of passport and the page with entry stamp, residence permit page or X2 visa page;
③ Transfer Letter or Certificate of Completion and transcript from prior institution.
Students are required to present the original copies of all application materials for the school's review of scholarship eligibility upon registration. Students who fail to pass the review will be disqualified from the scholarship.
5. Admission&Notification
(1) The university will review the materials of scholarship applicants.
(2) Students who have been awarded scholarships are not allowed to change their majors and study periods specified in the admission notice.
(3) After admission, the University of Jinan will send the admission notice and JW202 to the applicant.
(4) Admitted applicants should apply for a visa to study in China at the Chinese embassy (consulate) with the original copies of their passports, Admission Notice, JW202 and Foreigner Physical Examination Form, and should enter China with the originals of the above documents.
(5) After enrolling and paying the required tuition, applicants should finish the procedures for residence in China in Jinan Exit-Entry Administration Bureau within 30 days (Materials required include the passport, Admission Notice, JW202, and Foreigner's Physical Examination Certificate).
